DAAHOUD - A STACK OF NOTES FOR BAMBINO #1 Created for the show 'Blurred' at the CoCA, Seattle, WA 2002.-Original text from the Blurred catalog-The lowly 2" x 4" mystified in an erotic trance, frenzied into a higher state. The premise was to take a banal material, cut it into a module based on the width of the body, and, by repeating that module, lay up a lumber wall as if it were masonry. By corbelling the material, it is possible to get a high degree of plastic deformation. After the level of the benches, the piece becomes a belly that then collapses into the fire of gothic squinches, capped by a baroque drunken flourish. The inside of the piece and the outside are separated by a mere 3.5 inches and yet they are entirely different spaces that had to be built simultaneously. The inside is noticeably larger than the outside.
